Getting started, step by step

  1. Receive your registration link

Your club or coach will send you (or your parent/guardian) a registration link by email or direct message. Click it to get started — it takes just a couple of minutes.

    • No account needed before you receive the link
    • The link is unique to you
    • Completely free to join

Under 18?: If you're under 18, your parent or guardian will usually receive the invitation and set up your account on your behalf.

  2. Complete your player profile

Once you're in, fill out your player profile. The more accurate it is, the better your coach can plan for you.

    • Full name and date of birth
    • Playing position (and preferred foot)
    • Kit number
    • Profile photo (optional but encouraged)

Stand out: A complete profile with a photo helps your coach quickly identify you in the squad list.

  3. View your team and upcoming matches

Your team dashboard shows you everything that's coming up — matches, training sessions, and any important club news.

    • Upcoming match dates, kick-off times, and venues
    • Your team's current season fixtures
    • Recent match results
    • Team announcements from your coach

Stay prepared: Check your dashboard before every match week so you always know where to be and when.

  4. Check your availability (or your guardian does)

Before each match or training session, your coach needs to know if you're coming. You (or your guardian) can mark availability from the dashboard.

    • See every upcoming event in your calendar
    • Tap Available or Unavailable for each event
    • Your coach sees your response immediately
    • Change your answer anytime if your plans change

Help your coach: Marking availability early means your coach can plan the lineup properly instead of guessing who's turning up.

  5. View your match lineups

Before each match, your coach will publish the lineup and you can see your position on the pitch, your squad role, and any tactical notes.

    • Your position on the team lineup graphic
    • Starting eleven and substitutes list
    • Formation and shape for the match
    • Captain and vice-captain designation

Match day ready: Checking the lineup before you arrive means no surprises — you know your role before you get to the pitch.

  6. Follow your stats and progress

After each match your coach records goals, assists, ratings, and playing time. You can view your personal stats and track your progress across the season.

    • Goals and assists per match and for the season
    • Playing time across all matches
    • Performance ratings from your coach
    • Player of the Match awards

Your football story: Your stats page builds up over the season — a record of every contribution you've made for the team.

Common questions

How do I join FootyLineup?
You'll be invited by your club or coach. They send an invitation or registration link to you or your parent/guardian. You can't sign up independently — you join through your club.
Can I update my own profile?
Some profile details can be updated by you. Others, like your team assignment, can only be changed by your coach or club admin. If something looks wrong, contact your coach.
What if I can't make a match?
Mark yourself as Unavailable on the dashboard as soon as you know. Your coach will see it immediately and can plan around your absence. It's much better than a last-minute message.
Can I see other players' stats?
You can see team-level performance information, but individual player stats for other squad members are controlled by your club's privacy settings.
Is the app free for players?
Yes. FootyLineup is completely free for players. Your club pays for the platform — there is no cost to you or your family.
What devices can I use?
FootyLineup works in any modern web browser — on your phone, tablet, or computer. There is no app download required.
